Patterson is 4-0 against Escalon since August of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Patterson Tigers will face off against the Escalon Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Patterson sitting on six straight wins and Escalon on eight.
Patterson extended their postseason success on Friday against Vista del Lago. They walked away with a 28-19 win over the Eagles.
Jeremiah Lugo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 195 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Joseph, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Escalon stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against West Park as Escalon made off with a 48-28 victory.
Escalon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Graham, who rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jamin Miller, who gained 94 total yards and three touchdowns.
Patterson pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Escalon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Patterson was able to grind out a solid win over Escalon in their previous matchup back in September of 2017, winning 31-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Patterson since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
