The Broughton Capitals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-53 walloping at the hands of Cannon. While losing is never fun, Broughton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Cannon is ranked fifth).
Jordan Page and Christian Outlaw certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Page scored 20 points along with seven rebounds, while Outlaw scored 12 points. The game was Page's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Harrison Peatross was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Broughton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cannon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Broughton will be playing in front of their home fans against Wakefield at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Cannon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Reidsville at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Reidsville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 333 points over their last four games.
