Softball Recap: Cedar Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Cedar never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Dixie Flyers as Cedar made off with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Reds have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kate Lopez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Bishoff, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Cedar hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in 16 consecutive matches.

Cedar pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dixie, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar will face off against Crimson Cliffs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dixie, they will challenge Moapa Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
