Bryan Galvan and Jayden Avila certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Galvan dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards, while Avila posted 15 points and seven rebounds. Those 11 rebounds gave Galvan a new career-high. Mason Burns was another key player, putting up four points and 11 boards.
Even though they lost, Faith Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive games.
True North found their leader in sophomore Jonas Matthews, who scored 21 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Matthews has scored at least a third of True North's points. Another player making a difference was Carlos Samaniego, who put up eight points and ten rebounds.
Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for True North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.
Faith Christian has already played their next contest, a 51-42 win against Spring Baptist Academy on the 13th. True North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
