The Sahuarita Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt a 67-34 loss at the hands of Amphitheater. Sahuarita has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Sahuarita still got an impressive performance from Nate Torres, who scored 15 points.
Andy Lopez had an outrageously good game for Amphitheater as he scored 17 points along with three steals. Aeden Haymore was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Sahuarita's defeat was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Amphitheater, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Sahuarita will head out on the road to challenge the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Amphitheater, they will be playing at home against the Red Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Walden Grove's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 16 matchups.
