Wakefield is returning to their home field after beating D.H. Conley on theirs, despite the fact D.H. Conley has dominated at home this season. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Vikings on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Aniela Piscorik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

Wakefield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in ten consecutive matches.
Rolesville never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Millbrook on Monday. They blew past the Wildcats 10-1.
Kaitlyn Curphey made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Curphey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Rolesville let Abbie DeCiantis and Gianna D'Antonio run wild. Wakefield pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rolesville, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.
Rolesville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wakefield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. It's a different story for Rolesville, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Wakefield's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Wakefield took their victory against Rolesville when the teams last played on April 9th by a conclusive 16-10 score. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
