Football Recap: Southeast Extends Winning Streak to Three

Southeast owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Marshall Bears. The win was just business as usual for the Spartans, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Southeast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josiah Hardy, who rushed for 68 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Those 68 rushing yards gave Hardy a new career-high. Another big playmaker for Southeast was Montre McGlugritch, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Southeast's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Damon Davis and Brian Avila, who racked up all six sacks between them. Davis is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Southeast's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast will host Grant at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Marshall, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Elk City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
