Mandarin is 6-0 against Stanton since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mandarin Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Stanton Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mandarin put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Riverside for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-17 victory on the road. With Mandarin ahead 42-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mandarin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nykeria Thomas, who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of Mandarin's points. Another player making a difference was Irvieona Gantt, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, after only 21 points in their last match, Stanton made sure to put some points up on the board against Wolfson on Monday. Stanton took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 61-27 victory over Wolfson.
Mandarin's win bumped their season record to 4-0 while Riverside's loss dropped theirs to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Mandarin against Stanton in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 60-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mandarin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
