Merritt have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Cordell at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
Merritt had a rough outing against Hooker three weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Merritt had enough points to win and then some against Mooreland two weeks ago, taking their match 15-0.
Meanwhile, Cordell suffered a grim 6-40 defeat to Thomas-Fay-Custer last Friday.
Merritt's victory lifted them to 2-1 while Cordell's defeat dropped them down to 0-3. We'll see if Merritt's success rolls on or if Cordell are able to steal their positive momentum.
