The Williams Field Black Hawks will challenge the Boulder Creek Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Williams Field is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Desert Ridge. Given the Black Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Jaguars are ranked 82nd) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dominick Barjona and Courshawn Hill were among the main playmakers for Williams Field as the former threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes and the latter gained 140 total yards and two touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave Barjona a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Smith, who picked up 106 receiving yards and one score.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Williams Field proved: they limited Desert Ridge to a paltry 0.9 yards per carry. The Black Hawks didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.5.
Meanwhile, Boulder Creek never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Cesar Chavez, posting a 49-0 win.
Williams Field better keep an eye on Everett Stano. He was instrumental in Boulder Creek's win, rushing for 114 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes. Their leading receiver Shaedon Perry was Stano's top target yet again, picking up 60 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one TD on the ground.
Williams Field now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Boulder Creek, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Williams Field has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 197.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Boulder Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 147.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Williams Field against Boulder Creek when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 35-6 win. Do the Black Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
