The Alleghany Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. Their rough 53-33 defeat to West Wilkes might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alleghany in their matchups with West Wilkes: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Alleghany saw an underclassman step up: Elizabeth Collins scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Collins scored a full 51.5% of Alleghany's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ally Glenn was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 9 rebounds.
Alleghany's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Wilkes, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alleghany won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Surry Central at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Surry Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. West Wilkes won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Wilkes at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st.
