The Montgomery County Indians will take on the Dawson-Bryant Hornets at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dawson-Bryant will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Montgomery County extended their winning streak to three last Wednesday. The Indians put the hurt on Bourbon County with a sharp 8-1 win.

03/24/25 @ Wolfe County | 5 |
03/21/25 @ Bath County | 10 |
Bourbon County's batters probably weren't too happy with Ryleigh Martin, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up four walks). Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilliana Hill, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Rodgers, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Dawson-Bryant got themselves on the board against Fairland on Friday, but Fairland never followed suit. They blew past the Dragons 12-0. The Hornets have beaten the Dragons the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dragons has come to flipping the script.
Abbie Deeds was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Deeds was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mia Haynes was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Braelie Hitchcock was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Dawson-Bryant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Montgomery County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Dawson-Bryant, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both Montgomery County and Dawson-Bryant just can't seem to miss. The Indians have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Dawson-Bryant struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
