The Lyman Memorial Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 79-55 walloping at the hands of Windham. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lyman Memorial in their matchups with Windham: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Lyman Memorial still got an impressive performance from Owen Christiansen, who scored 23 points. That's the first time this season that Christiansen scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Chandler, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Malcolm Hunter, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Windham. Hunter hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Anthony Green was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Lyman Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Windham, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyman Memorial will face off against Bacon Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bacon Academy is ranked 151st, while Lyman Memorial is ranked 160th). As for Windham, they will head out on the road to challenge Manchester at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
