After both having extra time off, the Syracuse Titans and the Riverton Silverwolves will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Syracuse is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Farmington, who was ranked 14th at the time (Syracuse was ranked 11th). The Titans fell 3-1 to the Phoenix on Thursday.
While Syracuse ultimately came up short, they really made Farmington work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Syracuse saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zane Nanney had five digs and one block. Nanney also set a new season-high mark in assists with 29.
Meanwhile, Riverton didn't have quite enough to beat Herriman on Friday and fell 3-2. The Silverwolves have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Riverton wouldn't go down easily and took Herriman into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 22-25, 15-13.
Riverton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Syracuse, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Syracuse hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.5 blocks per game. It's a different story for Riverton, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 blocks. Given Syracuse's sizable advantage in that area, the Silverwolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
