Universal Learning Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Hope Of Detroit Academy out 51-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Universal Learning Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Universal Learning Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zeinab Bazzi, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Mansour, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, nine rebounds, and nine steals.
The victory got Universal Learning Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Hope Of Detroit Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-3 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Universal Learning Academy and Taylor Prep will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Hope Of Detroit Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Star International Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
