The Eastern Mennonite Flames entered their tilt with the New Covenant Gryphons with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Eastern Mennonite secured a 54-48 W over New Covenant on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eastern Mennonite also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Eastern Mennonite was led to victory by Prodigy L simms and Drew Hatter. L simms scored 20 points, while Hatter scored 16 points along with two steals. L simms hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was William Gardner, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Eastern Mennonite pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for New Covenant, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Mennonite will face off against King Abdullah Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in King Abdullah Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for New Covenant, they will head out on the road to take on Westover Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
