Meanwhile, Douglas had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Galena by a score of 71-62 on Tuesday.
Douglas had a senior duo take command as Kyle Koontz dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds and Jett Lehmann almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Lehmann hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Caden Thacker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
The win got Spanish Springs back to even at 11-11. As for Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.
Friday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Spanish Springs have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Douglas struggles in that department as they've made 37.1% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
