After each having a week off, The Perry Meridian Falcons and the Warren Central Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Perry Meridian is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Two weeks ago, Perry Meridian came up short against Mooresville and fell 24-14.
Despite the loss, Perry Meridian had strong showings from Andy Warren, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, and Zachary Huckaby, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, Warren Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 47-3 defeat at the hands of Christian Brothers. While losing is never fun, Warren Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 39th in Indiana, while Christian Brothers is ranked third in Missouri).
Jaylan Mcmoore put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 135 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Perry Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Warren Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Perry Meridian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Warren Central struggles in that department as they've been even better at 203.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Perry Meridian was dealt a bruising 43-7 loss at the hands of Warren Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Perry Meridian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
