The Rocket City Falcons lost against Tennessee Heat back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Rocket City had to suffer through a rough 78-51 loss at the hands of Tennessee Heat. While losing is never fun, Rocket City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 307th in Alabama, while Tennessee Heat is ranked 143rd in Tennessee).
Despite the loss, Rocket City had strong showings from Kai Parsons, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Lucian Borchers, who scored 20 points along with seven steals. That was a full 39.2% of Rocket City's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for Rocket City and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for Tennessee Heat, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-13.
Rocket City will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against CSTHEA at 7:00 p.m. CSTHEA knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Rocket City likes a good challenge. As for Tennessee Heat, they will head out on the road to face off against The Webb School at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully The Webb School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
