Basketball Recap: Centauri Extends Winning Streak to Three

Centauri had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 win over the Ignacio Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-40 back in January.

Centauri's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keaden McGinnis led the charge by putting up 14 points. Another player making a difference was Shandon Gilleland, who posted nine points.

Centauri's record now sits at 9-10. As for Ignacio, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Centauri is set to square off against their familiar foe Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Ignacio will take on rival Montezuma-Cortez at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
