This season hasn't been kind to the North Marion Colts, who are still winless after their 18th contest. They were outmatched by Forest on the road and fell 64-24. North Marion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Despite the loss, North Marion saw an underclassman step up: TA'SONI CURBEAM scored ten points. CURBEAM continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of ZIPPORAH MOZELL, who scored six points.
Leading Forest to victory were Jessica Colon and Taleah Jones. Colon scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Jones scored 13 points along with six steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Neveah Perez-llana was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
North Marion dropped their record down to 0-18 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Forest, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.
North Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Forest and South Sumter will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Sumter has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
