The Richmond Red Devils will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Centerville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Richmond is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Centerville in Indiana (Richmond is ranked 18th, while Centerville is ranked 204th).
After a string of 16 wins, Richmond's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Palestine. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Richmond's loss came about despite a quality game from Cedric Horton, who scored 27 points. Horton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Mason Carpenter was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Even though Centerville has not done well against Connersville recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Centerville walked away with a 50-43 victory over Connersville. That's two games straight that Centerville has won by exactly seven points.
Richmond's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-1. As for Centerville, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
