Faith Christian are taking a road trip to challenge Freedom Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Freedom Christian Academy will be up against a hot Faith Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. Everything went Faith Christian's way against Village Christian Academy on Friday as Faith Christian made off with an 11-1 victory.
Blayde Hinton was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Vincent Wilson and Ashton Lascallette did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Lascallette went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Dylan Morgan, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Faith Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Village Christian Academy only managed one hit.
Meanwhile, Freedom Christian Academy won against The O'Neal School last Friday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Freedom Christian Academy's pitcher stepped up to hand Northwood Temple Academy a 17-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.
Freedom Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Andrew Corney, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Corney has posted since back in May of 2024. Eli Corney was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Faith Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Freedom Christian Academy, their record is now 7-2.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Faith Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Freedom Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Faith Christian's way against Freedom Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Faith Christian made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Faith Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
