Pamlico County is 0-4 against Martin County since March of 2024 but things could change on Monday. The Hurricanes will host the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Pamlico County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Pamlico County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Jones Senior with a sharp 28-8 win on Friday. With that victory, the Hurricanes brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Ayden Broughton and Peyton Sevenski were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Broughton tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Sevenski tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Broughton posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Broughton went 3-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Sevenski went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Pamlico County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Martin County came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eagles 10-1. Considering the Gators have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Easton Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Landon Lane was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Colin Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Martin County's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Pamlico County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pamlico County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Martin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
