The Nyssa Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Umatilla Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Umatilla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.1 goals per game this season.
Nyssa is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Irrigon just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Nyssa happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 10th.
Meanwhile, Umatilla had already won 10 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.0 goals) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Give Umatilla's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.
Umatilla has now won six of their last seven games on the road. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-1 record this season. Nyssa's draw gives them a new season record of 8-1-1.
