The Clearwater Valley Rams will face off against the Potlatch Loggers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Clearwater Valley made easy work of Kendrick and carried off a 13-1 win. The Rams have beaten the Tigers the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Jesse Rice was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Tessa Lundgren, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Clearwater Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Potlatch got the win against Genesee on Monday by a conclusive 24-14.
The team relied heavily on Reese Lusby, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Olivia Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Potlatch's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Clearwater Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clearwater Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .599. However, it's not like Potlatch struggles in that department as they've averaged .620. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clearwater Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Potlatch when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
