After a string of three wins, the Thompson Tommies's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 73-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grafton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (63), Thompson still had to take the loss.
Thompson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Overby, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Overby hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wolfgram, who scored 15 points along with seven assists.
Thompson's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Grafton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thompson will take on South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Thompson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 284 points over their last four games. Grafton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Shiloh Christian at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th.
