The Hixson Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Chattanooga Central Pounders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Hixson's victory against Ooltewah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Owls 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga Central waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The Pounders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Navaeh Frank made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Frank was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Hope Richardson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Marisa Salinas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Chattanooga Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Hixson pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chattanooga Central, their record is now 11-5.
Everything went Hixson's way against Chattanooga Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Hixson made off with a 17-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Pounders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
