The Towson Generals waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They came out on top against Dundalk by a score of 40-29. Given Towson's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Owls are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justice Smith, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanaya Valentine, who scored five points along with six steals.
Towson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Dundalk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
Towson is on the road again on Friday and plays the Bulls on February 2nd. Hereford is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games. As for Dundalk, they will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Parkville is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
