Softball Recap: False River Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

False River had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 25-1 margin over the Family Christian Flames. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-2 on Tuesday.

Teryn Deville made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Deville was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, False River got a massive performance out of Reese Hadley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Shelby Donohue was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

False River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .935. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

False River's record is now 10-4-1. As for Family Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, False River will head out to challenge Maurepas at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Family Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pleasant Hill at 1:00 p.m.
