The Hickory Red Tornadoes stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 77-40 victory over Foard on the road. Hickory's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Hickory's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamien Little, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Zane Krenzel, who scored 11 points.
Foard's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Ollis and Carson Bess. Ollis scored 12 points, while Bess scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ollis has scored all season. Nolan Herman was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Hickory's win was their 17th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. As for Foard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory will take on Statesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Statesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Foard, they will stay at home for another game and welcome St. Stephens at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd. St. Stephens knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Foard likes a good challenge.
