On Friday, Matanzas didn't have too much trouble with Parker on the road as they won 67-52.
Matanzas got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rya'sir Jefferson out in front who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five steals. The game was Jefferson 's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Tariq Shakir was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and three steals.
Matanzas' win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Parker, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Matanzas won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ridgeview at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. Ridgeview is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Parker, they will be playing at home against ED White at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. ED White has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
