Rehoboth Christian has gone a perfect 5-0 against Hozho Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lynx will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Rehoboth Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
Rehoboth Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Laguna Acoma, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Lynx blew past the Hawks 17-5 on Tuesday. The Lynx might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Taylen Esalio made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Shanoah Eddie was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Deiyanera Franklin was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Rehoboth Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive matches.
Hozho Academy played against To'hajiilee on Tuesday and won via forfeit.
Hozho Academy's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Rehoboth Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.
Rehoboth Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Hozho Academy in their previous matchup on April 5th, winning 10-5. Do the Lynx have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
