The Tahoka Bulldogs''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Floydada and snuck past 36-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tahoka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zane Garvin, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruben Arguello, who picked up 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Floydada lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyrean Henderson. Despite the final result, he threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Braun Hobbs, who picked up 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tahoka's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Floydada, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tahoka will challenge Olton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Olton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Floydada, they will head out on the road to face off against Post at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
