The Cape Coral Seahawks entered their tilt with the Oasis Sharks with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Cape Coral managed a 59-54 win over Oasis on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cape Coral also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.
Cape Coral's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Silva, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Howerton, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Oasis lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Javarius Jackson, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 37% of Oasis' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Louzao, who scored 14 points.
Cape Coral pushed their record up to 14-6 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Oasis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.
Cape Coral will square off against Lemon Bay at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lemon Bay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Oasis, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Naples Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Naples Classical has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 559 points over their last eight matches.
