Basketball Game Preview: Bendle Tigers vs. Lake Fenton Blue Devils

The Bendle Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Lake Fenton Blue Devils at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bendle's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

Bendle is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since February 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past Atherton 82-40. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bendle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malis Firman, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 12 assists, and ten steals. Firman is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Mattis, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points and six steals.

Bendle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Lake Fenton played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Goodrich, falling 83-47. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Martians recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Bendle's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Lake Fenton, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Bendle suffered a grim 59-34 defeat to Lake Fenton in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Bendle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
