The Macon Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Chillicothe, falling 59-32. Macon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chillicothe apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for James Mathew, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds for Chillicothe. Mathew also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Trout, who scored nine points along with 13 assists and four steals.
Macon's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3. As for Chillicothe, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Macon will be home for the holidays to greet Mendon Unity at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chillicothe is on the road again on Monday and play against Southeast at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. Southeast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Chillicothe is ranked 181st).
