In what's become a running theme this season, the Burke Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Charleston Math & Science 51-28. Winning may never get old, but Burke sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading Burke to victory were Terry Jenkins and Juel Mack. Jenkins scored nine points along with seven assists and three steals, while Mack scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mack continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Sam Mattison was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Charleston Math & Science still got an impressive performance from Tyler Simmons, who scored ten points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Grant, who scored eight points.
Burke has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Charleston Math & Science, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
Burke won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cross at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Cross is coming into the matchup with eight straight victories on the road, so Burke is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Charleston Math & Science does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
