People's Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the American History Bald Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th. People's Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
People's Prep might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 56-10 to the Raptors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, American History made easy work of the Eagles on Friday and carried off a 41-18 win. The victory was just what American History needed coming off of a 56-16 defeat in their prior match.
Erica Lawson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals. Lawson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Neveah Stanley was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
People's Prep dropped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.4 points per game. As for American History, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
People's Prep was dealt a bruising 60-11 defeat at the hands of the Bald Eagles in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can People's Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
