The Calvert Cavaliers will be home for the holidays to greet the McDonough Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Calvert's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Patuxent 32-27.
Despite the defeat, Calvert saw an underclassman step up: Brooke Kidwell scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Kidwell scored a full 63% of Calvert's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-29, which was the final score in McDonough's tilt against St. Charles on Monday. McDonough was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.
Calvert's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for McDonough, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
