It was a good run, but the Foothill Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The contest between them and Pleasant Valley wasn't particularly close, with Foothill falling 78-63. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Foothill in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Foothill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Zanhiser. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Zanhiser has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Van Warren was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cam Bussey was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points for Pleasant Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bussey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Garretson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Pleasant Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will take on the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shasta is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Pleasant Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Enterprise focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
