Baseball Recap: Silverado Has No Trouble Against Bonanza

Silverado barely beat Bonanza the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Skyhawks put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 8-1 victory on Wednesday. The Skyhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Silverado let Jayden Orphan and Preston Clark run wild. Orphan went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Clark got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs Clark has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanoa Wolfgang, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Silverado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive matchups.

Silverado is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Bonanza, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-17.

Silverado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bonanza, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mater Academy East Las Vegas at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
