Softball Recap: Wicksburg Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Wicksburg waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Excel. Considering Wicksburg has won 17 matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Joyner and Anleigh Wood did most of the damage at the plate: Joyner went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one double, while Wood went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie McFarlane, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wicksburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Excel didn't got any.

Wicksburg's win bumped their record up to 33-14. As for Excel, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.

Wicksburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Mobile Christian on the 13th. As for Excel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-0 win against Dallas County on the 13th.
