The Autauga Academy Generals had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Evangel Christian Academy 45-27 on Monday. The win was just what Autauga Academy needed coming off of a 59-22 loss in their prior contest.
Autauga Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Claudia DiTomasso, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which DiTomasso has scored at least 25% of Autauga Academy's points. Teonna Davis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
The victory got Autauga Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8.
Autauga Academy will square off against Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Macon-East Montgomery Academy is ranked 248th, while Autauga Academy is ranked 271st). Evangel Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
