The Carson Senators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of McQueen. Carson has not had much luck with McQueen recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Carson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Hughes, who scored 13 points. Dylan O'dell was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Carson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as McQueen pulled down 30 offensive rebounds.
McQueen found their leader in underclassman Kade Snyder, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Hancock, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and four steals.
Carson dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home. As for McQueen, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
Carson will square off against Spanish Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Spanish Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for McQueen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Reed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
