School of the Woods' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lukka Monteagudo, who scored six points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gwinn, who scored eight points.
Annapolis Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake Gwaltney led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Gwaltney is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Guzman, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
School of the Woods has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.
School of the Woods will be playing in front of their home fans against Angleton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Annapolis Christian Academy on the road again on Saturday and play against Lifegate Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th.
