De Soto has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Seaman Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, De Soto was fully in charge, breezing past Turner 57-6 at home. Given De Soto's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Turner is ranked 189th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
De Soto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Whiddon led the charge by throwing for 43 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Lang, who gained 72 total yards and two touchdowns.
Seaman fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Washington on the road to the tune of 62-12.
Seaman relied on the efforts of Max Huston, who threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns, and Samson Tootle, who rushed for 92 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Noah Kobuszewski was another key contributor, picking up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
De Soto's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.6 points per game. As for Seaman, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
