If the Waynesburg Central Raiders were riding high off their 64-37 takedown of the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Waynesburg Central took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson-Morgan on Friday. Waynesburg Central lost against Jefferson-Morgan in their previous head to head last Saturday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 46-39 score last time.
Jefferson-Morgan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Huston Guesman, who scored 20 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Guesman has scored at least 25% of Jefferson-Morgan's points. Another player making a difference was Dayten Marion, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Waynesburg Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jefferson-Morgan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesburg Central's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bethlehem Center at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Bethlehem Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday. As for Jefferson-Morgan, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Charleroi at 7:00 p.m. Charleroi is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
