Piketon is a perfect 5-0 against Southeastern since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Redstreaks are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 5:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Piketon 3.8, Southeastern 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Southeastern will be up against a hot Piketon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Redstreaks came out on top against Zane Trace by a score of 9-4 on Monday.
Saydi Childers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaylin Forbes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Addy Blakeman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Piketon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Southeastern won against Paint Valley on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Panthers didn't even let Huntington on the board, marking the Panthers' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Kylie Williams made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Southeastern got a massive performance out of Molly Lowry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Lowry has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gracie Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Piketon's record now sits at 16-2. As for Southeastern, their record is now 13-4.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Piketon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. However, it's not like Southeastern struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Piketon skirted past Southeastern 5-4 when the teams last played on April 6th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redstreaks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
