The South Sumter Raiders will face off against the Citrus Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Sumter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
South Sumter took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hernando as they made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Raven Parker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Parker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cadence Sellers was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
Meanwhile, Citrus earned a 5-2 victory over Springstead on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hurricanes.
Like South Sumter, Citrus also got a great game from a two-way player: Paisley Williamson. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Williamson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Williamson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alicia Demott, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Citrus' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for South Sumter, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
South Sumter beat Citrus 11-8 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
